pic related are cool too
whats the blue stuff? does it have flares firing upwards?
also i never got the idea behind the wing design on the MICA missile it seems like those big static X wing things wouldnt help it much in high G maneuvers, python 5 has them too but much smaller.
its nice that france makes it's own air to air munitions instead of relying on amraams and sidewinders

this a mod of the plane, called cryoplane

it has LNG engines as well as hydrogen version, wiki says its the first hydrogen experimental plane

Do not laugh at our planes: remember that I am a South American country, with 18 million inhabitants, and I do everything I can within my possibilities

>To flight-test an LNG system ANTK Tupolev bailed back a Tu-154 (serial No 85035), and replaced the No 3 (starboard) engine with an NK-88, fed with LNG by a completely separate fuelsystem.
>The NK-88 is a derivative of the Kuznetsov NK-8-2 turbofan, with thrust unchanged at 20,945 Ib (9,500kg). The main tank, of 10ft 2in (3.1m) diameter and 17ft 81/2in (5.4m) long, is of AMG6 aluminium alloy, with a 50mm (2in) lagging of foamed polyurethane.
>The NK-88 engine has a dedicated two-stage centrifugal pump driven by a bleed-air turbine. LNG comes in at -152° C and is passed through a heat exchanger to convert it to gas. The engine combustion chamber is able to accept either this supply of LNG or, on command, to switch to the kerosene supply normally used for the other engines.
so it's technically a hybrid? the right engine could switch between kerosene and LNG. i think we need more LNG aviation, im seeing a trend here of people converting cars to LNG we should do the same for aircraft. kerosene is becoming more expensive while LNG is relatively cheap.

theres some hydrogen aviation development here. a bunch of companies are working on hydrogen fuel cell drones and aircraft and not hydrogen burning engines like that plane.

im not laughing theyre cool planes
we have even less people and there are not many aviation industries in our area either. we used to make pic related in israel (french design tho )and the nesher fighter plane. the first fighter plane made in israel had a kill/loss ratio of over 30. but we haven't made manned military planes in decades (other than conversions and modifications of existing airframes or making parts for others)

well it was more experimental, they might use some fallback systems such as normal engine

yea i get it, it sucks that it came just as ussr was kill. did they ever make LNG planes in russia after this?
many cool projects were fucked in that time like the energia rocket, if that project wasnt cancelled russia could have had rocket reusability comparable to spacex much earlier.

>LNG planes in russia after this
i don't think so, at least not realistically

>we have even less people
But you are not Latin American (the requirements are copulative) Israel is a first world country

that sucks but i guess russia isnt short on kerosene either so its not that important. and when it starts becoming a problem you have the old schematics of this nk-88 engine and can use the knowledge to convert planes to LNG like people convert car engines to LNG.
ok
still i wish we had more of a manned millitary aviation industry
what is that? what does it run on?

HARRIER JUMPJET

it doesnt actually jump
still a cool plane

smol and cute

>Fokker
why do dutch names always sound funny. its like the english language was especially designed around making dutch things sound funny.
