My thought

Well nominal GDP is hard to say because obviously population goes up too. But fact is that we are living better than ever thanks to advances in technology and human rights.

-Bloated welfare systems and goverment
-Sky high taxes and reckless money printing to fund the welfare system and goverment
-A lot of industries have become reliant on subsidies

We basically just need some free market reforms but club med won't allow that.

Also the euro has been quit weak for the last decade. So a lot of european econemies grew in euro terms but dropped in dollar terms because the euro is being hed hostage by a bunch of brown people, who are refusing to work.
