We're capitalist monarchy

*oligarchy

Do you really think oligarchs were interested in this war, kek? They decide nothing in this country

Was it all on monke then?

Which means they're not oligarchs in the first place they once were

how about tsardom of russia, putin as the tsar of great russian empire

If they own the tank factories and uniform factories I think they'd be happy with some war.

Its funny how all these socialist regimes ended up as ultra conservative dynastical capitalist societies

Our military–industrial complex is 99% government owned

Modern Russia is kapitalistik af renaming it to ussr makes no sense

They'd have to retake the former republics first I imagine, or suffer the humiliation in admitting the union just couldn't hack it back in the early 90's

Yes, his willingness to oppose NATO influence on our borders and partially historical autism

What happened to the Baltic states then? Or Poland for that matter. Why would Ukraine's desire to join a defensive alliance with it's neighbors have changed anything

gazprom yes

whether it's bad or not people prefer putin over oligarchy and his political actions are supported by the people of russia

>his political actions are supported by the people of russia

You mean according to the polls which are run exclusively by pro-putin state media as all the independent ones have been shut down for using the word "war"?
Yeah bro, I'd believe it, thats like Fox news running a poll and coming back with 100% of Americans prefer Republican presidents.

>Baltic states
baltic who? Anyways, there were no options back then.
Ukraine is (or was) second-largest military in Europe by numbers: personnel, heavy artillery and vehicles, aviation and so on. IHaving Ukraine in NATO > having Finland in NATO, not to mention it's much much easier to execute an offensive from Ukraine than from ice swamps. Ukraine also has warm sea routes

>Having Ukraine in NATO < having Finland in NATO
fixed

there's nothing more disgusting than a "ugh i hate russia" russian

He's supported by engineers, teachers, doctors, army etc. Look at how many people were there in Moscow stadium. My personal experience too I've been to russia and talked to people from russia cashiers, landlords, taxi drivers, random people on a train/airplane. They love Putin

Well this is kinda what happens when a popularity seeking president restricts the press and does everything under false pretenses and lies. Instability in the streets is the biggest threat.

North Koreans too have very high regards for the Kim dynasty, are you seeing the parallels I'm drawing here?
