they try to cram more into less space so everything feels really small especially in restaurants

It consists of mentally ill and mentally unstable people who about to do something wild because of stress. A big chunk of the population is high on copium because they left their shirholes to live in a small apartment in the outskirts. It's a place where very few people live well and everyone else is wasting their life away in hopes to make it big

Most of the city is permeated by a feint smell of garbage soaked in piss. And like everything else about the shithole of NYC, everyone is just noseblind to it. If you come from a place that naturally smells pleasant, with a lot of pine trees or brush or something, it's even more jarring. It's the #1 thing people say when they visit there from where I'm from. Imagine living your whole life immersed in a world where everything smells like trash dunked in urine.

It's the same as any major city really. You'll have very nice parts and very bad parts but I liked NYC when I visited.

Biggest issue? Overpopulation. You CANNOT get away from all the people if you tried, there's no solitude whatsoever

The rats are amazing. It's not just a meme they're ridiculous and numerous.
