We had this THICC book called "Town Page." We were searching for everything when we were in trouble(moving service, oversize trash etc) by this.

there are 2 cool thinks about phonebooks that have been explored by the US TV show 'mythbusters' and one magic trick
first is the fact that if you interlock every page of two phonebooks, the resulting friction is so strong, that you need considerable force to pull both phonebooks apart.
in the show they used two tanks
the second one is that several phonebooks stacked on top of each other might stop small arms fire from penetrating said books.
the magic trick is a little known party gag where you rip a telephonebook into halves, you still need some force but without the method people will struggle to imitate you
