Its a reminder that you can be even so great as the son of God, with powerful ability yet the only thing that is inevitable in this life is suffering and pain. Even he couldn't get away from it.

another amazing and insightful thread by a trinidad and tobago flag

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not

Tu pense buono
Molto bene

Mi ricordi bene hehe

Suffering is an essential part of Christianity, he's not misconstruing it.

I think you're missing the real message Trini-dude.

The bigger themes of His sacrifice are that:

-He loved us enough to born like a human, live like a human, and suffering a humiliating death like a human

-There is life after death.

-That Christ's sacrifice was so perfect that it enables us to join Him in eternal life.

>And as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God, 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not God of the dead, but of the living."

Not really looking at it so much from a religious point of view tbqf but this makes sense too .
I'm more so just relating it to our reality as humans, today and always

convert to Christianity

Shut up, he had a great idea and expressed it well, stop trying to steal his thunder

The point is that Christ was fully human and he lived a human life. So yes, not just the death but the entire incarnation of Christ is a wonderful thing when you ponder it.

>And the word became flesh,
[kneels]
>And dwelt among us.

you're really cool x)
Born and raised catholic. Everytime I turn away from my faith and ignore it I become lost, impatient and angry until I return to it or atleast until I remember Christ and his suffering again.

To reduce the incarnation of Christ down to his death really misses the bigger picture. That's what the Trini-dude seemed to be focusing on--the actual incarnation.

Just read the gospels and realize that Christ suffered hunger, temptation, rejection, and loneliness like all of us.

I feel like you missed my point

Maybe you could expand on it. It sounds like you want to say that even Jesus could not escape pain and suffering and, implicitly, death.

When the truth is that Chist is the champion of death. He has defeated it. The suffering that Christ faced was of his own volition. He did not have to endure it, but he chose to. Recall when he is tempted by the devil and what he says.

I love Petra!

What choice did he have other than to be beaten and mutilated in front of everybody

He could have ascended into Heaven. He could have destroyed the Roman legion with a snap of his fingers.

Christ chose to suffer for us and our sins and he saw all of them and did it anyways.

Oh so it's more like he CHOSE to ACCEPT. suffering in this life, as a sacrifice for our sins? That's even cooler tbqf

Very based, Trinichad

ignatz :D

Yes, that's more along the lines that I was getting at. And yes, that's why Catholics make such a big deal about the incarnation.
