If not, how does it make you feel?
Is your country part of the US Visa Waiver Program?

I still had to go through customs and immigration took like 3h in jfk airport. Even in 3rd world countrie where i didnt have to wait for that long
I feel honored that I don't have to do breakdance before the immigration officer to prove that I'm not a terrorist, drug smuggler or illegal employee anymore.
Uhhh..
Who’s gonna tell him?
Yes
we're in Visa Waiver, your map is outdated
You still gotta go through immigration when you arrive and your entry is still up to the discretion of an immigration official. This isn't the EU where you just tap through the border like it's a fucking subway turnstile
Chile really is the only white country in Latin America.
It really do be like that

so what's the point of it, actually looks like it's more convenient to apply for visa because at least they do basic check in the US embassy in your country so you're less likely to be denied entry already in America at the airport.
what's the point of not making mexico green? we all know they can enter the US without visa and never go back
Have you never been outside EU? That's what all border crossings are like even if it's visa free
The point is that you don't have to do that shit beforehand. You can just fill out ESTA and hop on a plane. A visa is not a guarantee that you'll be let in, neither is visa-free or visa on arrival.
>Is your country part of the US Visa Waiver Program?
Argentina no (it was part of it until 2001), Italy yes
>If not, how does it make you feel?
I could use my italian passport but I have 0 interest on going there so couldn't care less
I don't believe they do this in the UK
No.
Don't need it.
>A visa is not a guarantee that you'll be let in, neither is visa-free or visa on arrival.
Still I think immigration officers have a different approach to a person who already obtained the visa i.e. met at least basic criteria and another immigration officer decided this person deserves to get the visa, than to a person who comes without any kind of confirmation and must be checked first time only at the airport.
I mean it's irrelevant. You still have to get a defacto visa, when you travel to the US. Idk why we still let in the americans visa free.
I've been to many "visa free" countries in asia particular and still had to go through immigration officials having to give finger print etc
They still scan your luggage I think, and they can TECHNICALLY deny you entry if they want, just like any other country, is what I think the US user was saying. So yes it eill be like entering the uk or anywhere else you are visa free too, there is still minimal security.
this, its ESTA is basically an E-visa.
in fact the US is harder to get entry in as a britisher than 'visa on arrival' countries. because those countries just look at your passport and give you the visa there and then.
You don't have to tell them your facebook account and so on.
>This isn't the EU where you just tap through the border like it's a fucking subway turnstile
You're saying it like its a bad thing lol
>Have you never been outside EU
i have never been abroad even inside EU desu
The hardest part of getting a visa is getting the appointment itself. Last year I was about to fly to either Rome, Milan or Curacao just to speak to an American embassy/consulate employee
but why if you are eligible for this Visa Waiver stuff?
Not if you want to study in the US, then you have to apply for an F1 visa
>You're saying it like its a bad thing lol
I say that because I'm jealous. I have to wait in line like a pleb with all the dirty foreigners while EU passport holders whizz through :(
The only exception to this is the UK where we get to use the machines like citizens do lmao. Dunno how the fuck we scored that deal
>while EU passport holders whizz through :(
i still have to wait in line for security check so thanks CIA
bonkers that intra-EU flights can't operate the same way as trains do
