What's the next country you're planning to or want to visit? Pic rel for me. Thinking maybe next summer I could fly down to Joburg and stay there for a week or so. Return flights to and from Dublin are only about €600, for one layover somewhere in the Middle East or North Africa.

even the idea of south africa terrifies me
Yeah, I've gotta make sure I don't step in the wrong place, lest I enter a part of the country where they enjoy killing whitey.
there are nicer countries in Africa, despite its high gdp compared to the rest of the continent south africa is the most unequal society on earth
SA seems like the worst black-majority US cities but on a nation-wide level. Agreed that there are nicer places to visit in Africa.
For me I really want to visit Russia, but I guess I will have to wait until things settle down.
why Russia?
This.
I'd still like to go there, there's some nice scenery.
ngl Brazil is another country i would be terrified of being murdered in
I've been obsessed with the Middle East for quite awhile. Israel would be an easy mode trip, but I'm tempted to go big dick and just book a flight to Riyadh.
But why would you be murdered in brazil?
South Africa scares me because of their society style, and their xenophobia.
Don't go to Jburg go to Cape town instead. Its a way way way way way better city to visit or live in. If you want to go to jburg literally I can only think of going a day there to maybe visit the apartheid museum then drive towards the national parks further north. I'd advise you to do Cape town, then regional flight to Jburg one day stay there then go to Kruger park.
South africa is a gorgeous country (atleast the parts that arent shanty towns), I can't wait to visit it again. Safety wise stay in the tourist & safe areas. Ask whoever you are staying with what those are in the area you are in. And be discreet.
In the west Brazil is known mostly for favelas and drug related crime
why cape town
Johannesburg is the closest thing to megacity one from judge dredd i can think off. Its km after km of concrete jungle in the middle of what feels like a fucking desert wasteland.
Capetown on the other hands feel california. There are a few slums especially on the east but the rest of the city is fkn incredible. Iv been all over the world but I can't wait to go back there. Its really diverse (in a good way not birmingham way). The city feels liveable and allot of stuff is in a safe walking distance. And theres just is allot of stuff to do.
dude saudi arabia is so boring i’d recommend jordan if you’re interested in the culture or dubai if you want to have fun
>Its really diverse (in a good way not birmingham way).
what do you mean?
i basically live in saudi arabia. yes it is boring
Hawaii isn't a different country but I think it might be the first vacation I'll ever go on alone at 26. And it's not as intimidating since it's still the US and I have a relative that lives there I might be able to stay with. Besides that I would like to see some Western European countries like France and Italy. Then maybe somewhere very different like China.
I like Saudi for the people. They're super active in a lot of online games I play and have a good sense of humor. Until recently KSA didn't even issue tourist visas so I'd like to be one of the first Italians to visit and explore some places. It's only boring if you spend all your time in air-conditioned malls
Only been there a few weeks cause of work but. The white folks were great, the indians and malaysians were also great folks. The blacks (not the one that shot and raped each other in the slums, talking about middle class ones here) were also incredible. Had nearly every colleague i worked with of all ethnicity invite me to their home and show me their neighborhood. Just that they were pleasant people to be around. Afrikaners were scare quiet sometimes.
is it an expensive place to live?
One of my coursemates from uni relocated to Durban and works there as an engineer. Is it as shit as Johannesburg or pretty nice because it's coastal? How does it compare to Cape Town?
