Because it is a multinational project

the astronauts are supposed to live there

Because ISS is years old and Chinese station started operations only last years. The shoddy construction in Chinese station is also quite noticeable

because it was designed by russians

The chink station is literally just bought/stolen designs from Russia. The core module in the pic is literally just a Soviet DOS-8 module that they bought the design for. Even has that retarded slope that is only there because the Russian Proton rocket couldn't fit the entire module inside its fairing.

It's perplexing when you dig a bit into the Chinese space program and see that literally every single fucking area related to hardware is just old Soviet shit they got their hands on during the 90's.

with Russian maintenance

There is a mess where the Russians are.

btw we almost ruined this fucking station recently.

youre the cosmonaut with the screwdriver?

Vs Russian DOS-8 module

This is well shown in the Gravity movie.

It's still amazing to me how there are multiple words in english that are being used on a regular basis when describing a person in space.

Astronaut - a north american/european/japanese space traveler
Cosmonaut - a russian/ex-soviet space traveler
Taikonaut - a chinese space traveler

welp you have to start somewhere.

Have never care about it but interesting, do you have any more books/articles or information about their programs so I can shit talk with my friends? Also how India space programs compare?

Do you just use cosmonaut in Russian, even for Americans?
>Taikonaut
Never heard that one.

>literally every single fucking area related to hardware is just old Soviet shit they got their hands on during the 90's.
Based. This is why we should abolish IP.

I just call them nauts

>Do you just use cosmonaut in Russian, even for Americans?

Yes.

>Do you just use cosmonaut in Russian, even for Americans?
In most cases yes, but whenever we hear the world "astronaut" we picture a north american space travelers automatically
>Never heard that one
It's not popular in day to day life but is used in media quite often

chinese one looks kinda cheap

Soulless Vs SOVL

If it ain't broke...

I love it that there's tech from like the 70s there. It looks like a living evolving museum.
