Question to Americans:

What do you think about mid-west states?
>cheap
>u can buy big REAL home (not apartment) for $90K
>less competition
>/comfy/ life
I think moving to mid-west would be better than moving to New York or Miami...

Land is cheap because the major industries left. The jobs that are left don't pay well. Also filled with Scandinavian-Americans so they are societal spergs who are on "something" all the time and Muzzies.

The midwest is painfully boring if you actually want to have a life. It's a pretty bad area to raise children. It's cheap because no one wants to live their and the jobs suck. Cry about cost of living all you want, but there are expensive areas that are actually worth it to live in (Boston Metro area, DC metro area, etc)

You can buy a house in my hometown in the Midwest for $50,000.

>t. can't live without the HUSTLE and BUSTLE of the big city

But then you have to live in the midwest. The only place worth living in the midwest is Chicago (the part that is segregated with no minorities of course) and that isn't cheap.

Anywhere that's cheap has poor people and poor people ruin everything.

It isn't cheap anymore and gas is expensive.
What do you mean by this? I've lived in the midwest all of my life so I never knew any different. Wouldn't the better jobs be negated by the higher cost of living so it wouldn't actually be easier to live there and you might as well just live near the nature?

Literally what do you do in Ohio? Schools suck so you can't raise kids, nature isn't any better than the east coast, the people are retarded Ohioians, and on top of that there are no jobs.

I'm biased having lived abroad, but fuck this boring flat place. Even the people have flat personalities, and flat ambitions.

Literally what do you do in Chicago that you can't do in Ohio? Shop at department stores?

They’re fine. I like the Great Lakes states more than the Midwest states.

The midwest has no Sovl, no culture, and is literally just a dying husk of great times that are long gone.

If you want nature and cheap living, there are objectively better places in the US. If you want jobs, there are objectively better places in the US. If you want the facilities to raise children, there are objectively better places in the US. If you want to live somewhere with SOVL, there are objectively better places in the US. The midwest does nothing better that other areas dont have.

If you value a social life and career opportunity, the list is too long to post

>social life

People in the Midwest have friends too.

>career opportunity

If your "career" is an important part of your life you need to get some hobbies.

>Wouldn't the better jobs be negated by the higher cost of living so it wouldn't actually be easier to live there and you might as well just live near the nature?
It depends. Jobs on the lower end of the salary scale don't see much of a bump so it's not worth it no, but jobs on the medium to high paying scale absolutely do. I applied for some jobs back home after graduation to appease my family and while there were a few positions that looked decent they were offering me $30-45k for a position that paid $70-85k in NYC. It's just such a huge disparity the COL becomes a non-issue. Now it is worth noting that because of the lack of young and educated people in the Midwest some positions will pay enough to make it competitive when factoring in COL to entice people but your company needs to have enough money for that which basically none of them do out there.

Finally someone gets it. Midwesterns keep thinking that they're just competing with New York and California, but they're not, they're competing with the entire country, and they just can't win.

The only places with $90k houses have no access to high speed internet

and shitty schools

starlink
think bigger problem is local unemployment rate and amount of drug addicts

Your options options are just more limited in a small town for both. It depends on your personality, I can't handle it honestly but know plenty of people who love the small town life.

I just hate other human beings so it's good for me

Long waitlist for starlink and once a critical mass of people in one area start using it the performance tanks. There is no substitute for fiber.

Again, if you dont care about your life, the midwest is the best. You'll fit in with the rest of the losers over there. The thing is, most people care about their lives.

stay out, we are full!!!
