Are people in your cunt religious?
Are people in your cunt religious?
heaven and hell are archaic concepts that originated in early semitic pagan religions. they were an early attempt to rationalize the futility of our existence in this world
Heaven and hell are real physical places in the sky and under the ground.
>American education
They're dimensions and levels of consciousness.
>Hmmm... Dead children? I better use this to show everyone how smart I am.
Why are leftists like this?
If you’re a convinced atheist, what possible reason could you have for justifying how to live any particular way, or living at all? That seems to make absolutely no sense to me.
Real unpopular opinions get deleted by mods even in r/unpopularopinion subreddit.
Such a circus.
Because some people are motivated by ideas beyond "getting punished by God".
Also its not like religious people do a very good job living in any spiritual way, at least in the USA.
some of them. i've met people all along the religious spectrum. from angry athiests to "i'm spiritual but not religious lol" to southern baptists who ramble about how jews are the chosen people and israel is where ww3/armageddon will start
Some are and some are not.
Unfortunately, much like ISIS or the Taliban, MAGA has entirely twisted religion in order to hurt and oppress others.
But yeah, some atheists can be cringe on reddit too I guess.
oh my fauci, she is absolutely right!
Explain how your religious morality lead you to make this post. Spoiler: it didn't, obvious there were other factors at play.
So you actually believe people go to heaven when they die?
why do you need to justify living
I just live bro never asked for this
That's not up for me to decide.
Yes, if they are good people. Redditor scum like you go to hell.
retard
Yeah.
>being atheist in 2022
No one is good, but God alone
When was the right time to be an atheist?
What ideas? If nothing but matter exists, there’s no grand purpose to anything and any ideas are inherently valueless. You can’t even make a rational argument in favor of any one thing.
What?
I’m not saying you need to justify anything. I’m suggesting there are people who are clearly convinced atheists and yet think there’s some inherent value to life or imperative to live in a certain way, but to me, that makes no sense at all.

How was my previous statement retarded?
You are legitimately retarded if you couldn't understand that.
you are right
I didn't ask you if you thought there should be a heaven, I asked you if you thought there was a heaven. "That's not up to me" is a retarded response.
that's literally why christ died on the cross
Must be. I didn’t understand your totally incomprehensible nonsense question. Nobody knows wtf you meant.
>I’m suggesting there are people who are clearly convinced atheists and yet think there’s some inherent value to life or imperative to live in a certain way
Those are two different things. The first category is simply retarded and I argue with them constantly, the second is quite reasonable. You don't need to believe in objective morality to think it's an "imperative" to remove your hand from a hot stove.
>believe in a jewish god
Everyone else does, it was very simple.
>"How do you do anything without religious morality?"
>I point out that you just did something that had nothing to do with religious morality, so there must be other possible reasons
if you are good then you go to heaven while if you are bad you go to hell doesn't matter if you worship god or not
simple as and it's feels true so it probably is
>what possible reason could you have for justifying how to live any particular way, or living at all
i like doing certain things and don't want other people to get in my way while doing so, so i don't break any laws and just do whatever i want (which doesn't include things like killing, raping, etc. in the first place)
never chose to live and probably wouldn't if i had been given a choice, but as i wasn't asked i won't start questioning why i am alive
if a god does indeed exist i honestly couldn't give a shit and would rather die and live an eternity separate from him, rather than venerate him just because i've been told to
And if I enjoy pain? Why should I remove my hand?
You see? Atheism denies even subjective morality. There is no such thing as “should” anything for an atheist. You cannot even make a rational argument in favor of any “should” at all.
Yeah, no.
>What ideas? If nothing but matter exists,
Atheism doesn't mean "nothing but matter exists". Ideas and principles clearly exist for most people.
> there’s no grand purpose to anything
There are many grand purposes beyond "God is gonna punish the people I hate and reward me!"
>You can’t even make a rational argument in favor of any one thing.
Maybe you are just stupid? Its not like religious people do a great job of making rational arguments of much other screeching at each other about what God REALLY wants.
Redditors should be mass genocided so as the poster says, they "stop existing".
no one said atheists can't believe in some kind of all encompassing one-ness to the universe or transcendent morality, they simply don't believe in an anthropomorphic deity being the origin point for those things
Are you fucking retarded? Obviously there’s religious morality implicit because in challenging atheism.
Yeah, yes.
That's a different situation with a different set of factors. I never said there are universal imperatives for all situations, simply that atheists also have factors guiding their decisions.
How can principles exist to an atheist? What possible reason would they have to accept any principle at all?
okay then explain how it guides all your posts on Any Forums
You can witness principles in action. Things fall down, the principle of gravity.
Nobody believes in an explicitly anthropomorphic deity first of all. That’s an atheist strawman that they run with. Nobody actually believes in le bearded sky daddy. And atheists do in fact deny all god and gods. Even some vague supposed “oneness” would qualify.
and exactly this opinion makes me an atheist. You're literally all "religious" because you want to fit in with other right wing retards
Genesis clearly said that God walked in the garden of Eden. You should try reading the bible some time.
Gravity isn’t a principle. It’s a theorized explanation for phenomena.
I don't care about some code of conduct created by some omnipotent being; I behave in a way I want other to treat me as others will bother me if I don't. There are no points, no cosmic punishments and no karma. If I feel like doing something altruistic I do so without expecting it to boost my rep in the eyes of some scumbag, but because I feel like it. I also don't expect people that have wronged me to get punished by my divine buddy.
>How can principles exist to an atheist? What possible reason would they have to accept any principle at all?
The values of society, philosophy, themselves, their loved ones.
I am neither atheist nor religious. I think its clear that religion does not do a good job of bestowing superhuman morals on much of anyone. At best, a religious person can end up in the same place as the average irreligious person. At worst, they are a total screeching mess. Perhaps because they haven't developed any principles of their own, and of course its impossible to truly know the will of God.
It sounds like I can get on just fine without principles then. Give me an example of a principle.
And it would stand to reason a supreme creator God can walk without necessarily being explicitly anthropomorphic in nature, wouldn’t it?
I believe in this god.
Logical principles
It amazes and confuses me how religious people can't fathom the concept of people having principles and values without the extortionist concept of Heaven and Hell backing them.
