>private
Yes
>public
No
Probably.
it's actually norway
Our buildings are decent but anything government-run is thirdie-tier.
our roads are good compared to other east euro countries
but our rail network is shit even by east euro standards
>our roads are good
The motorways look heavenly on street view. Probably newly built it seems.
I love you
I love you

roads fucking everywhere, a small island with only 5 boomers living on pension? shure here is your 200 million bridge and tunnel at the end of a 80km road just for you guys.
you will however need a lifted landcruiser or better to drive there because we cant afford to maintain it...
>floor disappears
Does your cunt have magic?
This.
>Sweden builds straight wide roads cheaply designed to take you as fast as possible from A to B
>Norway builds windy shit narrow roads that twist and turn so they can go through every shitty village in the country because apparently we're too dumb to understand what an arterial road network means
>also never maintained because of the sheer length of the network
we stared building new highways in the early 2000s and continued until now
now that we're done with roads the government is promising to start a similar project with the rail network which is pretty much the same as it was during Austro-Hungary
>tfw country is too rich on paper to get EU gibs
>actually poor in reality
They are turning some asphalt roads back in to gravel roads since we have a chronic budget deficit. Main roads are ok I guess, as well as train system.
Wish they did that here, anything else is a cope.
I think the problem here is that road building is so expensive that whenever a new project is built (which is several times a year), it costs so much money that there's nothing left for maintenance. So our new roads are shiny and nice, but everything else is crumbling at the same time.
Sounds weird, its not like Norway is lacking money
>its not like Norway is lacking money
we are. when you have to pay every retard minimum 60k euro a year for breathing there's no money left in the budget for anything else
yes
post delicious french infrastructure
we have the second-best maintained roads and the second-best rail network in the EU, but if you want something that stands out then: upload.wikimedia.org
knew you'd post Millau ;)
most beautiful modern bridge in the world
obviously no,
sea water + montly typoons + earthquakes + humid weather + overloaded trucks = roads are fucked all the time
Why are Norwegian roads so garbage? Does the country not value travel by car? I went full autism a fre days ago and spent many hours watching truck driver videos drive in the rural roads of Norway. There roads were so skinny and two cars couldn't drive past 1 another in many parts. What is reasoning behind making 1 lane road with passing point every 300-400 meters.
Switzerlands landscape is just as challenging as yours and they are far ahead, you have just as much money as them.
Norway is about 8x bigger than Switzerland with 2/3 the population. Plus, most Swiss live in the extremely flat plain parts of the country, not up in the mountains. Norway is extremely spread out.
Still, it's no excuse. If our politicians focused more on building good main roads in an arterial network it would significantly improve the quality of the whole network.
As of now, far more Norwegians fly across the country rather than drive. A lot of cargo moves by train or ship along the coast. There has been little incentive to improve our roads, but there has been a lot of development recently. Probably more in the past 15 than in the past 50 before that.
