and this is just an observation but the coolest gun owners were almost always ex military folk. I find less one have experience in army and such more they obsess about guns. I had a chat with someone who was planning to buy his 17th gun in case of collapse happens and he needs it. I said to him what he really needs to do is to find a community since no matter how well armed you are some warlord's gang of 15 can always outflank your entrenched ass just as it happened in sieges in yugoslavia, they did the people who were rich and stocked up first. Those who survived were families of 5-15 who sticked together.

maybe? depends on the scenario. I really view it as more of a deterrent than a serious existential threat to the US. It would definitely be a logistical nightmare at the bare minimum.
