PTA is a hack and all his movies are like this

Ahhh yep
>hits weed
>exhales
Ya just didn’t get it, man

Also Pynchon is a hack and all his books are like this

The whole movie is coming to the realization that whatever idea about the American Dream you had is completely wrong. That the entire country has been hijacked and you can't escape the shadow cast over it, but you can still do good in the world and every little act of kindness you do makes it that much better. Also getting over a roastie bitch or something

There was no crime, just like Big Lebowski.

Beware the Golden Wang.

It's a decent adaptation of a lesser Pynchon novel. It's supposed to be a lot hazier and more paranoid but Anderson focused on getting the plot across--which could be considered a mistake. Also, Pynchon's humor isn't for everyone; I thought Anderson (understandably) muted the slapstick aspect of it but it kind of tonally fucked things up. Bigfoot was interesting as a character but underutilized.

I have no idea what this was about. I saw it once sober when it came out and got bored with it, watched it stoned a couple years later and just remember laughing a lot and enjoying it, and coming to the conclusion that at the very least it recreates the “hazy memory of vaguely funny events” part of being stoned really well. I realize that this was a lot of text, thanks for reading my take

This song at least was really sick.

And this is a revolutionary idea in 2017?

The plot is empty as shit.

Owen Wilson literally tells him everything.

pynchon is as cringey as that one dude that created twin peaks forgot his name

I get it, it's just a cliche.

>Rich men run trains on women and you're a pleb
>this is how the world works

wow. a totally new concept not explored a trillion times

>hurr it’s about rich man rape
Doc literally uncovers a cia backed heroin smuggling operation and helps a guy get out of an MKUltra program.
Moron.

It's set in the 70s, and felt much more apparent since. It's also a revolutionary concept for people with their heads up their asses who got filtered

Is this a deleted scene? Never seen it

Comfy movie

I like Pynchon but it is hard to deny that he has basically been re writing the same novel since the 50s with the possible exception of Mason and Dixon.

the best adaptation of pynchon is not based on pynchon's books and is made by a man who haven't even read pynchon's books

bait

Lot 49

I never read a Pynchon novel and after giving up on this retarded film, I never will.

What happened to PTA? He was supposed to be the next kubrick

everyone thought about lot 49, but mitchell haven't read it

Mason & Dixon, Gravity's Rainbow and Against The Day aren't like this

Your first mistake was thinking there would be another Kubrick.

And thats Jonathan Glazer.
