shIT

I've never seen IT
which is better, the Tim Curry version or the movies that came out a couple of years ago?

Their both kinda of shitty in different ways. The miniseries is from the 90s before you could do decent horror on TV so it's pretty corny, but at least consistent in being kind of fun in a corny way. The movie brings the story to life more but stops the ball in the second film.

the third episode of season 1 of x-files was a huge homage to IT

What was Stephen Kings beef with information technology? Was he protesting about technological advancement or satirizing information tech professionals?

IT 2017 > IT 1990 first half > IT 1990 second half >>>> IT 2019

What was bad about the 2019 version? Never saw it.

This looks accurate.

What is It

It's a clown

IT is actually female. I wonder why they never addressed this in the mini series or movies.

>ITT: IT

I miss one-liner dropping """horror""" antagonists

it was a got damn disaster that tried to add a bunch of shit in with characters being gay for one another while also trying to shoehorn in shit they missed in the first movie while shitting it up and the spider looked fucking stupid
I really should have made it more clear that 2017 is only slightly better than the 1990 stuff, I loved the design of the deadlights and the spider in the old miniseries

The adult half of the story was always the weakest part, but with the 2019 Chapter 2 they made more than half the film into an actual fetchquest. The gang splits up for a bit, confront their own fears briefly, and get some item they need to defeat the final bo- I mean, It.
also in lieu of the Ritual of Chud thing they just verbally abuse Pennywise to death

90s Pennywise really is the best. I think it helps that Tim actually looks and acts like a clown. It makes sense, cause he's a funny guy, but also pretty weird looking which the makeup then accentuates. It's the subtle things, like his head being slightly bulbous.
Bill Skarsgard's Pennywise is just too outwardly evil looking, plus I can't remember him ever being particularly funny

Imagine a boring delivery quest on a mmo. Well a character goes to get one item from their childhood to a specific location, suspensful music for 10 minutes, the scene ends with a monster that runs to the camera like Mama. Now imagine the segment lasts 15 or 20 minutes. Now imagine they do one of these for each one of the 6 fucking kids. For one moment I thought I was grinding in a korean mmo. They should have skipped at least 4 of the 6 delivery quests. The most boring movie Ive ever watched.
And 2017 wasnt even that good.

Tim Curry seems to have been one of the few people involved in both projects to approach the idea with the proper level of camp.
