You ever notice how anything you look up on YouTube will have a thread made about it later that day? Like if you get drunk and decide to watch clips from a movie you haven't seen in years, THAT movie will now have its own thread here by some other user not long after?!

Never, you sound Loco.

yeah, it's called the algorithm

But how does MY youtube account have so much more power over everyone else's?!

your reatrded

I've noticed that oftentimes when my wife and I watch something new together, threads about that specific thing will start to pop up within days of us starting, and I'm beginning to suspect that she also posts here.

...

because you get told what to think not the other way around. You don't just "happen" to want to watch that old movie clip - everyone is getting it pushed at the same time. Next time look up the youtube comments there will be a flood of people talking about the algorithm.

happened to me many times, I thought it was just a coincidence

This. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a brainlet with Truman Show syndrome. Everyone watches the same thing.

Any Forums uses cross site cookies to track youtube views and programmatically creates threads. this have been well known for a decade at this point

kek

I post on a BBS full of stalking cunts (Fuckedcompany.com spin off), I started to get worried someone had doxxed me.

It's just something similar to the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon. When you've recently thought about something, you're more likely to notice it mentioned elsewhere.

so im not the only one who watched GI Jane last night?

I know what you're talking about but what's more likely is that your demographic profile and preferences are similar to ours.. let's be honest here most people on Any Forums and Any Forums are very similar. That similarity means that YouTube is likely to recommend every user similar content, and those few that overlap that are also posted, maybe 1/30 threads makes you think the internet is fakrle or whatever. It's just we are all young men, western, like games, like certain types of film, probably similar engagement with certain creators, similar politics, etc. So we're all targeted similar things.

Weird, I was literally just reading about the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon.

I have this all the time with more obscure movies. I'll have a movie in my backlog for months and finally decide to watch it and then see a thread about it the next day. Happened to me the other night with The Lawnmower Man. Never seen a thread about The Lawnmower Man before or after. Spooky

most of the internet is empty, there is only a couple amount of people on Any Forums/twitter and other social medias the reality is most of the internet posts you read were made by bots

Weird, I was literally just rewatching the opening scene of The Baader Meinhof Complex.

Go to YouTube and search about a specific
specific topic you enjoy and search by today barely anything will show up in your language because bots aren't advanced enough to make videos

Selection bias, you just watched it so you're more likely to notice a thread about it, plus the youtube algorithm suggests the same thing to a particular demographic at the same time and there is probably a lot of overlap in what fa/tv/irgins watch

?????

count how many are actually in your language that is the amount of people online posting in a entire day but every hour other websites get thousand and thousand of posts
