Miyazaki admits his hatred for Hollywood, director like Martin Scorsese...

>Miyazaki admits his hatred for Hollywood, director like Martin Scorsese, and the people that enjoy his movies : “Americans shoot things and they blow up and the like, so as you’d expect, they make movies like that,” said Miyazaki at the time, "It's disgusting. People like Martin Scorsese, I personally think they're not only pathetic worthless artists, but pathetic worthless people too. People like Scorsese, Lucas, Coppola... they are and never will be artists. Just thiefs. They wouldn't last a day in Japan without getting fired, because people here actually have standards, have knowledge, have respect for themselves and taste. We have real artists here. Sadly I can't same the same about America."

>“If someone is the enemy, it’s okay to kill endless numbers of them,” he continued. “Lord of the Rings is like that. If it’s the enemy, there’s killing without separation between civilians and soldiers. That falls within collateral damage. How many people are being killed in attacks in Afghanistan? The Lord of the Rings is a movie that has no problem doing that [not separating civilians from enemies, apparently]. If you read the original work, you’ll understand, but in reality, the ones who were being killed are Asians and Africans. Those who don’t know that, yet say they love fantasy are idiots.”

>“Even in the Indiana Jones movies, there is a white guy who, ‘bang,’ shoots people, right? Japanese people who go along and enjoy with that are unbelievably embarrassing. You are the ones that, ‘bang,’ get shot. Watching [those movies] without any self-awareness is unbelievable. There’s no pride, no historical perspective. You don’t know how you are viewed by a country like America.”

>Miyazaki has previously made critical comments about the United States, writing, “I dislike the United States that dropped the nuclear bombs and does not regret it.” He added that he was “against Americanization” and “hate[d] people who are proud that cheap Japanese cars are popular in America, and I look at people who wear badges of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force that filled Vietnam with dioxins as enemies.” He also claimed to be “Anti-jeans, anti-bourbon, anti-burgers”, “Anti-fried chicken, anti-cola, anti-American coffee”, and “Anti-New York, Anti-West Coast, Disneyland go back to America! Go back to dying of diabetes at your 30s!”

I don't know anything about chink cartoons and I'm fine like this.

Isn't this negroid ripping off Disney?

Seethe Miyazaki. He must consider Takashi Miike, Sonny Chiba, Kinji Fukasaku and the like to be traitors.

That last one more just shows that he didn't watch all the movies. As it was just a one off gag created due to time constraints. On some things I agree with Miyazaki, but he is also a stick in the mud.

How do you direct 2d images? lmao

>Takashi Miike, Sonny Chiba, Kinji Fukasaku and the like to be traitors.
He does.

Dude sounds angry all the time. Remember when he made fun of his son in his birthday joking about him being a dissapointment he wished never was born and then confessed in an interview he wasn't joking?

Base-

>Anti burgers
Never mind.

>Americans shoot things and they blow up and the like, so as you’d expect, they make movies like that,” said Miyazaki at the time
Alright let's work with that logic. Every miyazaki movie is about a pre pubescent girl. What does that say about Miyazaki and Japan at large?

anime sucks. weabs suck. smug japs suck.

I read his book which is taken from speeches, memoirs and interviews.
He ripped off Tezuka, who ripped of Disney.
And then he said that he hated both later in his life.
He also barely saw his wife and kids, opting to work as much as possible.
He got his son into animation to draw some architecture even though his son didn't want to. Then when his son got offered a directing gig at Ghibli by a sneaky producer, miyazaki told him he would be a giant failure. His son took the job to show his father wrong and completely fucked it up from the stress. Miyazaki watched it and left halfway to take a cigarette break, tell people it fucking sucks and that his son was still a child and then went back in. (from a documentary)

There's a chapter where he describes a woman who was an animation supervisor, who worked so hard that she barely slept 3 hours for weeks and had to be hospitalised. He recalls going to her, seeing that she had was nearly finished her 20 hour shift and then giving her more work because he didn't trust anyone else to do it, knowing it meant she wouldnt be able to sleep that day.
And he says "Are there even people as dedicated as that anymore? How can we make animation without this kind of person".

I hate this fucking gook so much. Fucking prick. His son is the better person.

Japanese """acting"""

>You don’t know how you are viewed by a country like America.
I legitimately don't get this. Is he not aware that most of the United States has a positive view of Japan? Like... a decent majority of the country is happy in our two nations being friends. So what gives?
I'm starting to think Miyazaki might be an out of touch boomer who's ignorant of his own country's history.

What happened to japanese filmmaking? How did Kurosawa not inspire generations of japanese actors and directors to aspire to greatness.

He apparently gave some praise for his son's recent movie, so I guess he's trying to make amends.

He blew off Martin Scorsese? Lol gay

>They wouldn't last a day in Japan without getting fired, because people here actually have standards, have knowledge, have respect for themselves and taste. We have real artists here.
Is that why the breadwinners of the anime-industry every year are things like Generic Isekai Schlock Series #143786-B and animated porno primarily centered around big-tittied Fantasy female knights getting violently raped by Orcs, all animated cheaply and nastily by overworked, underpaid and generally exploited "artists" that make less than I do doing a piss-easy job in America, but while working 60-70 hours a week?

I'm a weeb who fucking loves Anime, BTW. I'm also one of the first to suggest it as an alternative to the bland, tasteless, politics-obsessed schlock media the West has now condemned itself to churn-out exclusively, even if solely because it's something different.
But even I can see and understand that the Japanese animation industry has MASSIVE problems, and claiming everything or even most of what it produces is inherently superior to the creations of people like Martin Scorsese just because he's American and they're Japanese is peak delusional retardation.

Miyazaki, while creative and talented, is a bitter, angry, xenophobic, out-of-touch, arguably even delusional old codger that has largely lived in a fucking sociological bubble of his own making for the past 40 fucking years. More at 11.

Honestly, as silly as it is. I do kind of admire her for trying to imitate animated Chika In general, if nothing else, it looks accurate.

I mean, I would fuck that Kaguya.

So here's the thing.
Did you know that in the US, during the transition from silent film to "talkies", there were a massive number of actors and actresses who were suddenly out of work because their formula couldn't survive the technological development of them actually having to speak? You had some who could survive, of course, and adapt, but a lot couldn't.
Kurosawa was the man who was able to break from traditional Japanese stage acting (the silent film analogue) and bridge from the overwrought acting of the stage to the more subdued and crafted acting required for movies.
However... in a highly traditional society, most people in Japan were NOT able to do this. Most stuck to the old ways and the old methods, which are wholly inadequate for a live action film performance.

Reminder that this is how japs were before they got nuked. This faggot is so insanely pretentious.
