Joker

What is it about this character that makes it so appealing?
From the comic books to Nicholson, to Ledger, fuck Leto, to Phoenix, just obsessive fandom over him.

heath legend was cool as shit as the jokerman

I have nothing against capeshit, but I am tired of both him and Batman.

Unpredictable. chaotic evil done right. Also the absolutely perfect foil to Batman. He can be seen as both a direct opposite to everything batman while also being very comparable in a lot of respects. There's also an amazing amount of wriggle room for how the character is portrayed.

That’s good

Unironically he's just like me

It's the same reason GTA games are popular. It's basically something people self insert into because they imagine themselves taking out their frustrations on the world around them and the joker character represents that unbridled, carefree, lawless chaos.

Character archetypes that can do whatever they want are appealing. Most people are shackled by societal rules in one way or another.

>cool
>intimidating and genuinely scary
>intelligent
>capable
>actually crazy
>all of this and doesn't come off as try hard at all
Do you have any idea how unbelievably hard it is to pull all that off? even pulling one of those things off in a movie can be really hard if you aren't a good enough actor, especially in something like a superhero movie. Ledger was incredible and the fact that contrarian retards here say shit like "Nicholson was actually that best, Leto was good" is hilarious.

He’s not. It’s an Amerimutt meme

Nolan Joker has greasy unkempt hair, golden cheddar cheese yellow teeth, and clothing that looks like he never washes. Does it stand to reason that he also smells really bad, doesn't wipe properly, has perpetual jock itch, if uncircumcised horrendous dick cheese build up, fungus ridden toes, doesn't wear deodorant, and has crusty jizzy underwear?

Yeah
Nolan said he wanted the audience to image his breathe smelling like alcohol and shit when he was intimidating rachael

Green goblin in Spider-Man 1 was perfect, and he was the only interesting part of the new Spider-Man movie too.

imagine*

Because Joker doesn't kill you based on your race, religion, sex, or any other discriminating factor like that. He goes against you because you're 'good' or 'an obstacle'. It's always more of a vague thing. If he had a group of minorities and LGBT people in front of him tied up, and he had a gun, and was deciding which one to kill. The first one he would kill is the one that says something like 'batman will save us'.

Or something to that idea. Basically he's 'an agent of chaos' so people of all races and creeds can like him. To many Joker is a hero. Batman is the same in the sense that everyone to him is worth saving. For Joker everyone is worth driving to madness/and/or killing.

It's bland American ideals for popcorn movies/comics.

Okay, but who was Mi Nao?

Batman is an emotional character that white knuckles his own psyche at all times with rigorous logic and brute strength. Batman is in serious danger when that control fails.

Enter Joker -- an otherwise unremarkable kind-of clever guy whose insanity has stripped away every rational roadblock that stands in the way of raw ethos just spewing out of a human being.
His motivations are emotion.
His greatest weapon is emotion.
His Achilles Heel is emotion.
And, turns out, all he really wants to do is fuck with people because it's super amusing to watch their reactions as they feel things. Batman just happens to be the most fun because his reactions are so extreme and unique.

Makes for a very dramatic, unpredictable, compelling, and dangerous foil to Batman.

relatability unironically

even normies with friends can see themselves in him
