Superman = Outdated

>Directors literally going out of their way to avoid Superman AGAIN

They could just remake the Reeves movies and everyone would love it.

Superman Returns wasn't well received

Superheroes as a concept is outdated and should belong in the 20th century.

superman's really simple tho if you're not a pretentious hack.

nobody wants a dramatic superman, just like nobody wants a dramatic spiderman. all you have to do is a basic "clark kent goes to a phonebooth and turns into superman" story, and that's it.

They didn't remake Reeves at all with that shit. They just used the same music and turned Superman into an autistic weirdo

Is it possible to do All Star Superman?

Average people wouldn't like it. It's full Grant "Superman is my own personal Jesus Christ" Morrison

>super TAS and JLA cartoon generally well recieved
Why not just give superman to Bruce Timm?
Or Brad Bird?
Or any director that gets what superman is about

He's the expert on this subject considering he raped Not-Superman and nobody cared.

No superman is a 20th century ideal. Superheroes have been proven to be worked in a 21st century concept.

Superman's problem is that he's supposed to be the average good man who has the power to change things. As a result the average good man would let the state deal with criminals and would help out anyone in need. By this nature superman isn't a vigilante, but instead a friendly neighboorhood volunteer. Essentially Superman is the ultimate appeal to the state and if we believe the state to be corrupt and outdated then so too does superman's ideals get thrown out.

In fact he's not that far off from spiderman really, the only difference is that spiderman has responsiblities and makes sacrifices and superman doesn't, its why superman never has to choose between citizen life and superhero life because his citizen life doesn't really matter to him, its just a cover.

In order to make a good superman story in the midst of the 21st century we've got to either
>have it be set in the 1950's when people believed in the state
Or
>have superman be a worn out white collar worker who wants to do good but is constantly at arms with metropolis buecracy and incompentence.

Superman Odyssey would be good to make

Clark Kent hasn’t been a cover since Post Crisis

nice meme, tourist

pretty antisemitic considering superman was always a jewish allegory

Comic books not withstanding
Movie superheroes aren't the comics version, they're what the public understands these characters to be.
This is why everyone hated snyder superman, even though he was pretty accurate to the comics

But spiderman movies have been dramatic and theyve all been super successful. Its not simply save people from evil man, there concern that Peter has over the safety of his auntie, MJ, etc.

and for no good reason. It's still the best Superman movie.

Same could be said about cinema and art in general.
Art is juvenile and always will.

>Having white heroes is white supremacy
I love how he's a contrarian about every single thing except for modern race politics, which he's totally in lock step with.

He literally just says something baselessly, covers it with a “seems like,” and people believe it because many big words
Gotta love idea laundering

>even though he was pretty accurate to the comics
lol fuck off mate

Prove me wrong nigger
