>Will Smith leaves
>Chris Rock accepts the award for him
and everything would go smoothly

I'm sorry I can't afford a Ferrari
But that don't mean I can't get you there
I guess she's an Xbox
And I'm more an Atari
But the way you play your game ain't fair
I pity the fool that falls in love with you

Oh shit, she's a gold digger!
Just thought you should know nigger!

To be fair, one version came from "a source" while the other is from the Academy's official statement, so there's some plausible deniability there

Chris is a nice guy but I seriously doubt he would have been willing to accept that award on Will's behalf after getting slapped by him
Probably Denzel or Sam L. could have accepted it on his behalf

SHE TAKE MY MONEY

version A sounds like the truth plus what the fuck are they going to do? I guess in the end they should have thrown him out but it could have just as easily been a bit set up between Rock and Smith that they weren't in on.

They should have probably thrown him out but I don't think the Academy of Motion Pictures is a top down run organization where there is one guy who can just point to security and say toss that Fresh Prince outta here. I think it's kinda like the UN, lots of committees.

They should have stuck with the first story
The second one makes it look like Will made them his bitches

>I don't think the Academy of Motion Pictures is a top down run organization

The Academy isn't but the live production sure as hell is. They chose to let him stay because they knew it wasn't THAT dangerous in a literal sense (will isn't going to start slapping everyone or something) even though it was the wrong thing to do.

Unless they either intend to take his oscar or intend to ban him from the ceremony for life, releasing that statement was a big mistake
Imagine an actor not only assaults one of your presenters but also tests your gangsta by refusing to leave the ceremony when told to, and his only punishment afterwards is being banned from just the next ceremony

So they legit asked him to leave, he told them no, then they were like "ok then" and allowed him to do his speech?
Why the fuck would they publicly admit to this? Do they not realize how bad this makes them look?

A reporter in the daily news who was at the post oscars press conference said they instructed everyone to keep their questions just to the awards given. You strongly consider removing him, and condemn his actions but then gag the press from asking about it?

>to be fair
Stop giving these subhumans the benefit of the doubt

Will should have remained seated instead of doing what he did and should only have addressed the situation in his acceptance speech by shortly acknowledging his wife’s condition, truth is he completely lost control, for a brief moment his mind went blank and he became a dangerous animal, anyone else in his place would have been arrested, escorted out and charged but since he’s Will Smith he gets a pass, he literally assaulted a man on live TV for a lame joke. As a seasoned comedian himself and an actor he knew Oscar roasting was a thing and everyone can be targeted, it’s all for fun and there’s no ill intent. He showed his true colors that night, if he did what he did in the fucking Oscar Ceremony imagine what he does in his daily life when there are no cameras. He should be cancelled.

when there are no cameras? Wow... never thought of that. I suppose he fucks guys.

>They should have stuck with the first story
>The second one makes it look like Will made them his bitches
Consider this: maybe they already know they aren't punishing Will and the 2nd statement was put out just so everyone won't call them a pushover.

You can take the monkey out of the jungle but you can't take the jungle out of the monkey

>if he did what he did in the fucking Oscar Ceremony imagine what he does in his daily life when there are no cameras
His defenders are really acting like this is the first and only time he's ever snapped. Wrong. This is the first time he's ever snapped IN PUBLIC
Now it's fair game to question whether he's done this before

>the 2nd statement was put out just so everyone won't call them a pushover
Is....is this fucking bait? This HAS to be bait

you can, but you are gonna need some rope. Also, they do not work at all after and will slowly start to smell less... still bad, but less.

Dude the second story makes them look like way bigger pushovers than the first one. The first one, although it still reeks of bullshit, portrays them as panic-stricken and confused at the very worst

being asked to leave and being forcibly removed are two different things m8
