There is a Turkish Kurd chieftain who claims his great grandfather deposited 2billion dollars of Ottoman gold in the Swiss banks in 1910s (when he was local Ottoman governor and embezzled the funds). Then he went to pick it up in 1999 after he found his documents and they told him it was 25b now but they wouldn’t give it to him since losing that large of a deposit would ruin their bank. There’s an ongoing court case. Totally legit.

Yeah he is a rich landowner already and he is promising to pay both the Jewish groups and the Vatican bank a percent as they help him recover. Pope wrote a letter in his behalf to the Swiss. He will get it but they are really dragging their feet. Probably in next 10 years. Which will make it 30 years of courts.
