Felt horribly contrived: "Hmm, should I get together with my old high school friend who's asked me out, is working this same political campaign that I'm passionate about and who as an adult could provide for me and help me get out of this life I profess to hate? No. That 15 year-old with a pinball palace is the better option."
And the two main characters are kind of repellent. Alana isn't so bad but she comes across as extremely capricious, which is still pretty unattractive. Meanwhile Gary is just a (figuratively and literally) greasy sleeze who ruins people's houses and cars because he's basically a dick.
