Its becoming more common for young adults to live in their parents home for longer here in iceland since renting is almost impossible without wasting huge amounts of money and parents would rather want their kids to work and save money towards buying property instead of it all going to rent

Everybody in my family makes fun of me for staying with my mom when I'm 24 but it's the average, I didn't expect that

Most people I know left home around 18-21.
I left home when I was 18, around 6 weeks after my birthday.
Back then it was easy to find an apartment in my city, took less than a month.
These days people are in housing queues for 8-10 years in the city and 5-6 years in the suburbs. It's fucked and I'm extremely happy I left before it blew up.
