Because the US singlehandedly made Japan what it is today. Hell, the US has given Japan everything since the Meiji Restoration. Back then it was weapons, effective western military tactics and organisation, ships and infrastructure Japan would never have developed, like the steam engine and railways. After their chimp out and they were put in their place, the US showed mercy.They de-radicalized them, educated them, gave them a constitution and democratic government, kickstarted their industry, basically created the car and electronic industries in Japan and established them as a world trading partner.

Japan should be kneeling on the ground and kissing the boots of Uncle Sam with tears of joy in their eyes. You know the US could've invaded Japan and burnt it to the ground before annexing it right? The nukes were merciful. Japs were the objective evils in WW2 anyway, so killing their radicalized civillians was justifiable.
