Tamils want North Sri Lanka to be part of India but Sri Lankans will not allow that for understandable reasons.
Sri Lanka has always been a rival to Bharat. They deserve to be their own thing if they wish. Also, Sinhalese-Tamil relations will never be repaired now. It is a sad state of things.

Indira Gandhi let go of the island to Sri Lanka in the past with the agreement that Indian Tamils are allowed to fish there.
