Why do boomers act like VHS was good?
Why do boomers act like VHS was good?
It's because if you were a teen in the VHS era could trick your parents into renting you a film with violence and boober. Simple as.
it was SOUL. something zoomers know nothing about
VHS sucked. The only ones worth keeping are things not available on other formats. Or if they were butchered with piss filters etc.
I used vhs for big part of my life
t. zoomer
Gonna tell people I have to return tapes in current year
just CRAZY, like something jared leto would come up with for his joker
No you didnt
?
Literally nobody acts like VHS was good. Retards on Any Forums think CRT is better than OLED though.
for me it's the floppy disk
480p is the most SOULful resolution
>you will never know what it's like to have a VCR made of american steel and brawn that weigh over 30 pounds
Im 22 and I rented vhs tapes fuck off millenial you cant touch this childhood poverty zoomer
Betamax >>> VHS
Fuck JVC
Fuck niggers
Fuck trannies
And fuck jannies
t. zoomer cope
It was preinternet so VHS was the only means of “entertainment on demand” and going to the video store was the primary way of even learning about most films. It was an experience. By the time DVDs were released, the internet was in full force and the video store, while still an important experience, wasn’t as significant. Thus, there is tremendous nostalgia for VHS
>mom diligently recording every tv movie she thought i would like then comprehensibly labelling them alphabetically
>having to view weird ass comercials and shorts that you'd become familiar with and start to assosciate with that movie
take me back
I unironically miss traditional TV
Give me a cheap VHS camcorder for 6 bucks and I'll say its good.
You gotta sell me on the idea.
Blank VHS tapes are everywhere in huge stockpiles.
It would be a shame not to let me use them.
The only reason crt is better is because old systems actually look good on them unless you get a framemeister or some type of upscaler for a few hundred bucks. I have a ps2 and I can't play it on my 4k with a rca to hdmi converter since everything is so dark and blurry and even on an old 720p flatscreen with direct rca it is still really blurry.
The last VCR i owned and watched multiple times was Van Heilsing (2004) and it was one of my favorite movies, rewatched it on bluray last year and it was fucking terrible looked like shit, I guess VCR captured the SOVL
akssshhhuully vhs is 480i
It's literally impossible because DVDs gained global traction in the early 2000s, even in third world shit holes. You at most used VHS for a couple of years, which at this point is not a big part of your life
fuck off retard everyone immediately switched to dvd completely in 1996 and threw out their VHS tapes you can't just revise history and expect people to believe you
>read his post
>say "no you didn't" to myself
>read your post
hey in his defense he might live in some third world shithole like moldova or belarus
and for those cases there's usually a laserdisc version that isn't piss filtered or cropped either, and with much better quality
You underestimate my poverty
I unironically am more and more about to make me a 90s room again, with CRT tv and only VHS/movies up to 1999, same for consoles.
I really like the visual effect/aesthetic you get from vhs. I'm glad it's being used in music videos more.
We must return
I'm 33. VHS was fine for what it was, but disc media was a blessing. I don't miss VHS.
It had soul compared to what zoomers do today
>turn on smart tv
>launch Netflix or Amazon
>loads of progressive leftist degenerate propaganda
>turn on crt tv
>pssshhwoossshh
>browse through cabinet of vhs movies
>push vhs in
>the warm light of the crt glows over you
as the movie starts
