Reminder that if you don't have at least 5.1 surround sound, then you're not REALLY experiencing the movie.

All you need is 2.1 anything more is overkill.
Who the hell even wants to hear shit from behind them? Shit is annoying when It happens in theatres
>every movie made before 1985 blocks youre path
heh nothing personnel kid
i haven't used my surround sound system in years, i dont really give a shit anymore
>Jarvis, engage mono on all speakers
Checkmate. Your move.
How do you not use it? It's there, isn't it? Or are you listening with TV speakers for some reason?
I bought a new tv and got a free soundbar with it and never bothered to hook back up the surround system.
ahh yes, you're a "pleb normie" if you have a decent sound system and you're a "based patrician" when you watch garbage streaming services on your dogshit laptop/TV integrated speakers am i rite
protip: you are the pleb normie. fact
I'm routing the LFE channel to the four full-size speakers, never owned a subwoofer, never will
Your speakers must've been pretty cheap then. I'd rather have a 2.0 set-up with nice speakers than have a soundbar
For me it's DTS-HDeez
The audio source matters a lot too. I caught Raging Bull on TV the other day and the audio was shit compared to how the blu-ray sounded
I dont care about most new movies or shows so I'm not too concerned about the sound. Anything old that I've watched I've seen enough times that I dont need surround sound or it's old enough that surround sound wouldn't make a difference.
Soundbars are dogshit for older stereo mixed films too. As that user said, even just a basic 2.0 setup will shit all over your pathetic little chink fartbox and will improve your viewing/listening experience by a large amount.
A film like 2001 on a bad sound system and a good one is a completely different experience altogether.
don't care.
I'll get over it.
Old movies that were really big productions or musicals like Gone with the Wind and The Wizard of Oz have been treated to 5.1 mixes now.
Disney in particular puts a lot of effort into remastering their old cartoons. Even Snow White has 7.1
implying i want to REALLY experience what jewish pedophiles wanted me to
You only just kinda want to experience it?
I'm deaf in one ear anyway so it doesn't even matter to me.
Atmos works too. But you’ve got to hang them near the ceiling facing you. Bounce does not work
Nope. Tora Tora Tora (1970) and Terminator (1984) have decent 5.1 mixes, among many others.
