>Character never speaks or is directly seen, but other characters reference them extensively
ITT Tropes you love
>villain's main henchman is a femme fatale/dominatrix
Main hero has dark secret that drives the show that normies around him are oblivious to
>hero and villain become best friends
Does Wilson Wilson Jr from Home Improvement count?

>hero and villain have to team up to defeat an even bigger threat
das it mang
>Character never speaks or is directly seen, but other characters reference them extensively
I like that too, but is that really a trope?
I can only think of two examples off the top of my head right now, one being in Frasier and the orher one in a German movie called "Kein Pardon".
>minor detail mentioned at the beginning has a payoff at the end

>Maris from Frasier
>Bob Sacamano from Seinfeld
>Norm's wife from Cheers
>Wilson from Home Improvement

I met Bill Hader in a dream last night. He was in a disguise and I knew it was him instantly. He was nice
The chef from Star Trek Enterprise and Morn from DS9, he is seen but never speaks.
