Are there any decent science fiction series that were made in the past 5-10 years? I feel like I just keep rewatching old stuff that was good, like Babylon 5 and Farscape.

2012 Continium
2012 From the New World
2013 Orphan Black
2014 The 100
2015 12 Monkeys
2015 Dark Matter
2016 Braindead

I did try to watch that, and I've read the books as well, but the books are far more tolerable reading than the show is for watching. I just can't get past the casting, like they had to pick the ugliest fucking black woman to play Naomi and it doesn't help they had space Jon Snow as well.

>Continuum
>Dark Matter
Tragically underrated shows.

Yes. Scifi works best when taking the piss.

Me and friends nicknamed him Bob Stark.

He just has that befuddled look on his face, like he's uncertain about everything.

not the guy you replied to, but Holden was downright laughable at times with his raspy pack-a-day smoker voice, like he tried to be imposing when he already was calling all the shots by end of s3

Amos on the other hand was 10/10 kino to watch in every scene, his actor nailed it.

raised by wolves

continuum always drifted off.
Everything theseus is fucking based tho

2015 Killjoys
2017 Legion
2017 Counterpart
2018 Altered Carbon S1

I noticed this has started to be added to a lot of sci-fi lists. Why? Admittingly there was only one season out when I watched it, but it was a terrible YA flick (which should have been obvious since CW)

Yes. Even with the diversity, Dark Matter is very good.

Still upset it was cancelled.

I see it more as an alternative realism. It's not all dark-and-edgy as 'realism'. Instead it's just people acting like real people instead of the robotic 'federation' types on star trek.

For All Mankind, but that's alt-history sci-fi. Next season is gonna be nuts.

I just started season 3 of Farscape and it's really fun. I'm glad I didn't watch it when it was new, because I feel like I would have been a little too young to appreciate the writing.

And it wasn't even because of ratings.
