Can confirm. Went to Nunavut for several months back when I was in the Reserves and it was unbelievable how poor it was. All the native kids would carve swastikas into the side of our G-wagons and throw paint at us from behind, and there were sections of villages that white government workers didn’t dare go into. Nunavut is literally Haiti tier, It was mindblowing.
The one bright side of all this is that Nunavut will probably have a brighter economic future due to the inevitable rise in relevance of the global far-north due to climate change.
