Media was still somewhat about entertainment, instead of trying to overtly force agendas down your throat.
America hadn’t gotten a bloody nose yet on it’s own turf, so they felt invulnerable, and the media reflected that.

There isn't. There are just so few good movies made now that the past looks better. Truth closer to the 80s had some good movies, the 90s had a few good movies, the 00s had hardly any good movies and the 10s had mostly trash movies. The 50s-mid 70s actually has the most good movies compared to later time periods.
