Way earlier I'm afraid user, Frank Grimes ep marked a shift to a sad cynical tone they never really recovered from.

There's not enough Bart and Marge porn.

It was around 2003 for me. The Simpsons has been shit for almost 2 decades.

No that was when TikTok didn't mean zoomers and Kesha a cute

The Simpsons died before the widespread proliferation of the internet, let alone "internet culture" hitting the main stream.

The Simpsons had been dead ten years when that episode aired.

It died when 1990 came

>freckles
Why does she ruin it with makeup? She's a natural beauty

It's not that bad. People are so bitter nowdays they can't have fun holy shit...

agreed

It died when Ian Maxtone-Graham appeared in the credits (daily reminder that Norm beat his ass irl)

I stopped watching Simpsons way before that but I was thinking of going back to it and watching the newer stuff. Then they released the awful Kesha song ''''''''''''parody''''''''''''
I am not watching this trash.

Do The Bartman was way worse.

Does someone have that chart of every Simpsons episode with a rating on it? They gave the Frank Grimes episode a 9.3 which was the highest rating for the entire series to date. I re watched it and I gotta agree it definitely peaked there.

At least it was "original", and not just some shitty rework of an already existing song being made exclusively to cash in on said songs popularity.

>At least it was "original"
An original piece of shit. At least some people on this planet actually enjoy Kesha. Nobody enjoyed Do The Bartman.

It was indeed a piece of shit, cheesy, 90s rap song. But it was an original shitty song. Not a "parody" of a an already existing shitty song.

The Simpsons was never good

it makes me sick that i have to share this board with people with taste as bad as yours, i bet you were born in like 2001 you fucking normie, fuck your stupid chart, lmao, the frank grimes episode sucked, your chart sucks, you're such a simpleton idiot i can't stand it, you bastard.

>web exclusive parody animation of a pop song
No.

An original piece of shit song that nobody enjoyed is objectively worse than a popular song that you might not like but other people actually do enjoy.
You've placed an undo amount of importance on "originality." Originality doesn't mean shit when the end result is a bad song.

Do The Bartman -> SOVL
Tik Tok opening sequence -> soulless

Cope.

>vox populi, vox dei
Real reddit hours

>originality means nothing if it's popular
I wonder what kind of person would say this

Not an argument.

If I had to chose between two pieces of shit, I'd choose the piece of shit that isnt based on another distinct piece of shit.
That's double the shit.

>originality means nothing if it's popular
My actual words
>Originality doesn't mean shit when the end result is a bad song.

>Originality doesn't mean shit when the end result is a bad song.
future people gain knowledge of how not to do shitty songs.

And if I'm going to choose which one is worse, I'm going to side with the song that no one enjoyed over the song that people actually enjoyed.
