Funfact: Nolan wanted Juan Odim to be related by blood to Juan Ovyu, but he felt that it would've minimized Batman's role in the story by having someone else have a revenge plot against Bane. Also, in the novelization, Smee and Maimen were supposed to be gay lovers, but that got cut due to an obscure law that says that homosexuality isn't allowed to be depicted in areas like Les Baines. A flight actually crashed there, and they didn't want it to be insensitive.
