Farley was supposed to be the lead in
>Shrek instead of Mike Myers

Phil Hartman was originally going to be Zapp Brannigan. I imagine it would have some of a Blasto! gusto, but Billy West ended up approximating a voice that's Hartman doing Shatner

I always suspected this but was never sure if ut was true.

Will Smith was meant to be Neo.

Ewan McGreggor turned it down too

West is clearly trying to do a Hartman-doing-Shatner.

Indiana Jones was supposed to be Tom Selleck

Russel Crowe was supposed to be Aragorn

Billy West has talked about how the role was intended for Hartman.

Sean Connery was offered Gandalf and turned it down.

The nerd from The Breakfast club was Kubrick's pick for Pvt. Joker in FMJ, not that the guy who did play Joker had any real career afterwards anyway

Anthony Michael Hall would've been a better pick. The actor Kubrick went with is a wet sock.

Shrek also wasn't originally Scottish. Myers' voice didn't fit so he tried different accents.

>ITT: People pretend to not know Matthew Modine's name

Sean Connery also turned down Morpheus. Thank fuck we don't live in that timeline.

>Thah Matrixsh ish a shyshtem, Neo. Thaht shyshtem ish our enemy.

Way better than "we be in a matrix and sheetz."

wasn't it because he "didn't understand the script"?
that would have been kino. Why did Anthony Michael Hall turn it down/drop out?

A lot of people don't want to spend 18 months in New Zealand.

What was up with the French rips of The Dark Knight Rises? He had this silly mustache on.

Le Ronald Reagan was supposed to be Rick in Casablanca (not actually true btw)

From the original leaked recordings Farley did it seemed like Myers ended up being the better fit with the Scottish accent. I can't see the character working as well any other way.

Shrek is cringe

The critically acclaimed movie Shrek will not stand for your slander
