Anyone here aspiring to make a movie or tv show to direct?
Either getting into the industry or going indie?
If so what have you done to try get there or have you given up?

You'll have trouble getting answers here as Any Forums barely even watches movies and tv. It's basically turned into 2012 Any Forums

I've directed and edited a few music videos and made a short (basically as practice), I'm not interested in getting into the industry properly I just want to make one small movie.

I made a feature film when I was 20 that sucked but it taught me a lot about production and editing and overall how to make a giant project happen and deal with people so I consider it like college even though I never went. I have made some shorts since then and won some awards and now I'm an overweight director in my 30s doing educational videos.

I'm 27, have no friends, I have made shitty yourube videos in the hipes of getting "found" by the algorithm. now that I'm nearing 30 I realized that I can't keep doing this shit by myself and with no money.
I basically made everything more difficult than it need to be.
I made a short film and put a lot of effort into it (I'm actually proud of it) and send it to a local independent film festival, if it gets pick up, (next month) I hope to meet other creators.
I still have my doubs about the type of people I'll meet at these type of places, some of the categories of the festival were pandering bullshit like "black voices" "trans perspective"
I hope I can meet people who love the artsmanship not their politics

I would love to direct movies but have zero training, connections or funding.

I'm "writing" a novel right now instead, I'll let you know if that goes anywhere

It's SFW Any Forums + Any Forumslite. A generic shitposting board, free from gore, porn, etc.
That said:
me too, man. I love good cinematography and tight plotting, so it's almost inspiring to see the garbage out there, and imagine making something halfway decent.

>It's SFW Any Forums + Any Forumslite
so Any Forums in 2014 then.

Yeah, I guess so. Any Forums moves too fast though. I've always liked it here. I should have applied to be a janny, desu. Would have given my life purpose and focus.

I hate the state of Any Forums now, but you couldn't even pay me for a jannies job, imagine doing it for free. I have other shit to pass time with anyway.

>I have other shit to pass time with anyway
Like what?

Making music, spinning records, actually watching movies, reading books

But I like Any Forums. Keeping in free of off-topic autism and edgy NSFW spam is a good thing. Faggots screech "FOR FREE", but how many of them are NEETs or do nothing but shitpost and never contribute to anything? It might have been even fun had I applied and got the job.

No, but i write.

Write scripts?

It's about taking ownership. Poors litter and spray graffiti and vandalize. Responsible property owners take care of their possessions, preserving and cultivating them.
>shitposters = poors
>jannies = kings

already a world class director with 20 major motion pictures to my name. I make six figures, straight out of high school, in trades, bought my first house with cash at 21, new car every year, supermodel wife, I can bench press 300lbs and I don't even train.

There's a difference between off-topic and shitposting. It works on /sp/ because the board should treated like a sports bar or a barbershop. And the off-topic there is always more or less about sports anyway (Is a horse an athlete). Any Forums off-topic is always schizo-retard-idpol shit.

I bet if every board had flags, most shitposters on Any Forums would be revealed as unsavory third world types that no one wants around.

every board on the site is Any Forums-lite, because Any Forums came from the general board culture.

I agree, there's a balance. Knowing board culture, not being disingenuous, and being moderately smart enables anons to tell the difference.

I made a feature film recently. I'm just waiting on some festivals to get back to me so that it can hopefully screen somewhere soon-ish (before my actors all revolt and sue me for showreel footage like the bastards that they are).
Ama as long as it doesn't provide identifiable information

What's the movie about?

>Ama as long as it doesn't provide identifiable information
Why don't you fuck off to Reddit?
What's the flick about?

A depressed hitman. It's a pretty generic premise. But I've avoided going down the route of him being sad about killing people and randomly developing a conscience since that just seemed really cliched and stupid

shitposting is a refined art and is the fundament of this entire site's existence.
itself coming from a shitposter on a shitposting site. you plebbit hordes seem to think everywhere should be like plebbit and just have nice pat on the back discussions where you give each other gold stars and 'hope to be useful and plebbit famous".
that's why people have told you to go back where you came from ever since you arrived, and you never adapted.
the whirlpool of shit is inherent of the design of this site, it's like a toilet constantly flushing, and occasionally there is a nugget of gold in the shit which you can collect. the thing is, you usually have to spend half the day with your hand in the toilet to find those grains.
the difference with 10+ years ago was that there were more turds being flushed and more gold per turd too. now it is a disused tranny toilet in a broken down building in a forgotten part of town.
10+ years ago it was the busiest toilet in the biggest train station in town, with all sorts passing through.
everyone still knew they were there for a shit and to leave graffiti on the walls.
