it has practical reasons (you are allowed to work much longer hours as an adult than as a minor, no parental and agency supervision to watch for inappropriate scenes etc. etc.) but it can and does usually stretch credibility. always reminds me of those pornos from the 80ies with with wrinkly 40 year old ex-strippers putting on uniforms and pigtails and pretending to be cheerleaders sneeding and feeding their coach or whatever.
