it was pretty boring when i lived in nippon, but i only had basic channels not cable.
lots of stupid ass talk shows, but sillier than american ones cus japs gotta be cute all the time.
dumb soaps with the worst acting ever, you know the type. lots of low production soaps like that.

lots of NHK (public broadcaster) interest shows but they were pretty much always national geographic knockoffs that were exclussively about other regions of japan and their local specialties, which are ALL THE FUCKING SAME, just a DIFFERENT KIND OF SWEET POTATO OR FISH OR WHO KNOWS WHAT ITS MADE OUT OF SNACK thats been made the same way for 500 fucking years.
also they love staring at foreigners, so i distinctly remember the camera silently focusing on some lardass american or european eating something on the street in a kimono at a public festival for like ten minutes. camera just focused on this guy stuffing his facce while staring at nothing. and like millions of japs staring at him on their fucking tv sets at the same time.
also lots of news casts.
finally, the NHk guy will come to your home to ask for money for public tv, and will keep bugging you even when you tell him you dont watch TV or even have a TV and only watch youtube and torrents on your laptop cus yure sick of hearing japanese only.
i remember tv commercials made a big fuss of that mr and mrs smith movie being played on tv back in like 2010.
