Yes you can, easily. If the force of the shield is projected outward at a fixed, constant rate, then anything else projecting outward would be able to also accelerate. It's only if something approaches from the opposite direction that would meet the force, like shooting a gun from a car in motion as opposed to toward it, in a way.
