>finally meet superior genius alien lifeform that literally have birth to humanity after build up through the whole movie
>without a single line of dialogue after emerging from a cryosleep that could have lasted many millennia, it just immediately starts heeming everyone
Great writing

allegory for george floyds arrest and murder

he was checking if the robot's cum receptacle was properly full and up to snuff. But he forgot where the latch opening was, and so consumed by annoyance...he did what he had to do

The Engineers were in cryo sleep for 2000 years, they had received an alert they needed to destroy Earth (the implication was that Jesus was an Engineer and his death triggered it). But they woke up to find an artificial being and a dying human asking him to make the old man immortal.

Immortality is a sin to Engineers, they view dying as a valiant act because it gives birth to new life in the wake of death, as we saw in the beginning of the film with the Engineer drinking the goo. From him came life to planet Earth.

He was also offended the machine was speaking to him and the old man hadn't learned his language himself.

So ultimately that Engineer is an old guy, whose last waking thoughts were to destroy the humans on Earth, who is woken up by a human and his robot, asking him to commit his race's biggest sin.

His anger is justified with context, which was cut.

didnt they have a nice little chat in a deleted scene? yep here we go

where do you guys get this stuff? from interviews with the director? deleted scenes? I remember the fist concept a couple years before the trailer dropped, was about going to a perfect world but then the engineers are having a feast and they are cannibals

There is a version where he speaks back to them. He asks a series of questions and from the way he asks and the way they get answered it becomes clear he has no interest in the humans, lesser thans.
I think it’s a little bit darker that he doesn’t talk. For one, it could mean they weren’t even using his language correctly and didn’t know what they thought they did, it also just makes the engineer seem less predictable and a little more hostile.

>Great writing

it is great writing. if you were a soldier of an advanced superior alien civilization that's been travelling the stars for millions of years and you were woken up by retarded inferior creatures that are obviously a genetic abomination created by religious fanatics you would immediately destroy them too. Since that was what your original mission was anyway.

Why the fuck would they cut this?

That is infinitely cooler and more rewarding than what happened in the theatrical film

does anyone have the pasta about the engineer waking up?

their own headcanon
certainly not getting it from the movies

David called him a nigger in proto-Indo-European by accident.

>yup, that's me
>bet you're wondering how i got here

That's how their species says hello

He was disgusted when he realized it was an android and that he was surrounded by a bunch of deformed pygmies from a a failed science experiment.

>David
>accident
He did it on purpose just to see Weyland killed.

interview with the linguistic specialist that helped make all the protoeuropean dialogue used by david and the engineers

that doesn't count then. deleted scenes are one thing, but so third party helper doesn't decide what's canon and not

you're so dumb lol
who do you think told the linguist the meaning of the dialogue he was making?

There's no way this is true but I like to think the engineer going on a murder spree is him answering the question and that being the proper response says more about the nature of life and the universe then it does anything about the engineers apart from that maybe they know too much.

they deleted the chat scene to make him look like a mad incel

engineer aesthetic and mystery was very interesting but instead we got alien convenant
