he was out of ideas and wanted to be rich

he said Disney was the best company to sell Star Wars in 2012

>own the most popular franchise of all time with all the stress and responsibility that entails
or
>sell said franchise for a gorillion dollars and enjoy a comfy NEET life for the rest of your days

Don't ask stupid questions, user.

>make Prequels
>every neckbeard and critic whines that it isn't identical to the OT
>give it to the people best suited to make the corporate sewage the fans asked for
>fans keep whining

Dude, it's pretty much the only company that can afford it. Who else is he going to sell it to? Tesla? Walmart?

$4B isn't even a lot for one of the biggest media franchises in the world (the major one being Pokemon which is never gonna be on the market). They bought Pixar for $7B for reference

>Why did George Lucas sell Star Wars, and not only sell it, but sell it to Disney?
He always felt like Disney was a better fit for the franchise. Few years after TFA, he went on record admitting he felt like he sold it to "white slavers."

>he only company that can afford it
lol
lmao

>Why did George Lucas sell Star Wars, and not only sell it, but sell it to Disney?
Money

>with all the stress and responsibility that entails
Stress is what defines a man in a life. If you can't handle that, you're probably a tranny.

He didn’t want to incur more fanboy rage and on paper Disney is absolutely the company to sell to. I think everybody involved is surprised how badly Disneed Wars has gone

George Lucas made the fundamental mistake of thinking that because he had a good working relationship with Disney, they wouldn't treat Star Wars as horribly as every other IP acquisition they've done. He also thought that if he chose the next president of Lucasfilm himself she wouldn't throw him under the bus to pursue her own agenda as soon as Disney started trying to take the Lucas out of Lucasfilm.

Yes goy, you live a stressed life and die young while I enjoy a long comfortable stress free life at your expense.

If you're not stressed it's because you're being kept alive instead of having something to live for.

He was already a billionaire, his lifestyle didn't improve one bit.

He gave the money to charity though.

Mainly because he was afraid that he wouldn't be alive to complete the sequels if he worked on them.

Nice cope, stress leads to an early grave, my life has been practically stress free and I've got plenty to live for. What will the goyim say next to excuse their slave mentality?

which of the other 5, sorry 4, grabbler run media conglomerates should he have gone for?

He could've retired while still owning the franchise. Try again.

Money.

>Admiral gender studies

to expose how vile women are, of course
no one would have know just how treacherous and stupid kathleen really was if not for george's actions

George Lucas hates Star Wars and never understood why people like it. The prequels the perfect example of what he wants Star Wars to be vs what the fans want it to be.

He sold SW for 4 billion dollars (lets face it, most of us would have sold it for 40 million and a blowjob), still has some merchandise rights to the OT characters, and was lead to believe Disney would still follow his framework for the movies beyond the original trilogy.

The second the deal was done, they basically shoved him out the door (he's on record saying they all but threw his story bibles out), Disney made a point to eliminate anything that gives Lucas money from their parks and the movies, and you know the rest.
