They often go hand in hand.

based

he never did anything intelligent. apart from one successful ambush. he was a bad military leader. strategically he should have sided with renly or stannis like his dad did. 18000 northerners never stood a chance against the lannister army without support

cringe. picrel was based.

>dude he should just side with pretenders who won't accept his and his nobles demands
We need to defend Israel and Nato

its not about ideology or whatever, it's about pure numbers. the north needs the baratheons to take on the south. bother with philosophy after you won the war

Why didn't he go on a hunt for Jaime fookin Lannister instead of child murder

this guy was the westerosi trump
>militaristic dictator
>imperialist "make the north great again" attitude
>immature child
>hatemongerer against trans theon and the lannister socialists
>insane narcissist that brought on war
>had no popular support but refused to step down
he deserved to be killed, as does the cheeto-benito.

They're gonna build a wall... and the Lannisters are paying for it!

kys faggot

>dude it's just philosophy and not a literal casus belli
The Northeners should have made overtures to Highgarden literally as soon as Ned was held in jail

what war did trump start?

the war on our democracy.

If Robb had done the smart thing, married the Frey bitch, marched back North, closed off Moat Cailin and focused on handing the Ironborn their ass, what would have happened to his title as King on the Trident? How could Uncle Cuckold defend his territory with no natural defenses long-term?

based until he got some pussy. sad, really.

Based retard. Theon is the same.

Sneaking his army past the Gold Tooth using that goat path and raiding the Westerlands was pretty good. Of the three major mistakes that doomed his campaign only one was really through Robb's stupidity, which was sending Theon to treat with the Ironborn. Marrying Jeyne wasn't done out of stupidity, he felt trapped by honour and didn't think he had a choice. I honestly think that him growing up seeing the way that Catelyn had treated Jon Snow was a significant factor in why he was so resolute about marrying her rather than risk fathering a bastard.
If Catelyn hadn't freed Jaime they still might have been okay overall, though it admittedly wasn't looking great once Highgarden declared for Joffrey.

contI'd actually forgotten about how Robb had a plan in place to keep Tywin lured away from King's Landing long enough for Stannis to take the city which probably would have worked if Edmure had followed orders instead of trying to win glory by bloodying the lion's nose.
Honestly, the Tullys fucked things up more than the Starks did.

>le honor gets every male stark killed
dumb as shit

Bran and Rickon are still alive as of ADWD.

This is only because GRRM has an unrelenting hatred for honour, chivalry, and just about any actual medieval virtue. It's just cynical subversiveness.

I don't think that's completely true. There's a couple of paragons of honour and chivalry involved in the setting like Ser Arthur Dayne and Ser Barristan Selmy and they don't suffer from it. I think his point is more about the fact that blind idealism doesn't necessarily work in a dark and imperfect world. There's also a few stories within the setting that clearly value chivalry and honour such as the story of the Knight of the Laughing Tree. I think GRRM values honour and chivalry rather than hating them, and the characters who exploit the honour of others to do them harm are exclusively portrayed as villainous.
The show turned into utter dross when it overtook the books, so yes I'm a bookfag.
