Yes, that's a good analogy. This obviously only applies to the big blockbusters, as smaller movies are in a golden age with streaming services funding more and more of them. The major movies however are in complete disarray compared to where major blockbusters were in the 70s-00s

Yeah because Jaws was really intellectual and not just “scary shark invasion with some quips.” And even pre Jaws blockbuster, all the cowboy and gangster and spaceman movies churned out yearly from the 30s to the 70s we’re real think pieces huh not just good guy vs bad guy with the good guy sponsoring cigarette commercials on the side.
What you mean to say is ID4 is the first blockbuster or corpo product you remember during your lifetime. This ain’t new, you aren’t special.
