To me, it's a cultural problem. There is 0 desire to "take care of your people", hell often times there isn't even enough desire in these upper execs to treat the company with respect (how many times has a CEO came in, done jackshit, and then bailed after getting millions?). This is how America has always been: rugged individualism. But it couldn't last forever, and I think we'll soon see some sort of showdown between the old American individualist mindset and a realization that the current American finds it more and more difficult to be an individual due to economic factors that stem from the same individualist mindset.
