Poland was very important and their golden period has been unjustly forgotten but really what did they do outside of Poland? Apart from sending men to help Vienna because Spain did that too a century before the poles did it.
Maybe Poland had more potential to be relevant but they spent it on absolutely irrelevant regions of the world like ukraine and the balkans when Spain was intervening in Britain, France, Italy, Germany etc.
