Just started DS9 yesterday, having watched Emmisary and A Man Alone here's my thoughts on the cast.

Instantly charismatic and likeable:
Sisco
Quark
Odo
Dukat
O'Brien

Idk yet but I might hate them:
Dax
Julian
Kira

So far it's pretty cozy desu, writing seems a bit weightier than tng with an actual implied story arc.

Julian gets a lot of character development, especially after he becomes BFFs with O'Brien, he'll be one of your favorite characters by the end.
Dax gets more interesting but also less likeable.
Kira is a Bajoran, no hope there.
Make sure you stick with it until season 4 at least, that's when the main story arc kicks in and everything gets peak-Trek good

Julian gets better as the series goes on, his Somali genes activate near the end and he gets a light bulb hairline.
Kira stays around the same and she goes through a half dozen boyfriends. Any episode where she gets smugged on by Cardassians is 10/10.
Jadzia aka Slagzia aka WHORE stays worst character.
