If you thought that China went through a lot of changes in 2021, then you haven't seen anything yet. Lots of experts have speculated that the real world disrupting changes are in store for 2023 and beyond once the party congress are over and Xi gets a third term as president, securing his position for life, allowing him to do really unpopular shit without being forced out by his rivals. What do you think that he will do? Here's my guess
>Nuke the real estate sector to the ground and nationalize it >Force a property tax throughout China >Even larger anti corruption purge and more centralization of power >Massive rework of their tax system >Completely replace cash with the digital yuan >New laws on coal and pollution that will fuck their rust belt badly >Massive push for nuclear power >Completely rework the education system >Force deleveraging on a massive level, for private and state owned companies and local governments, expect a record amount of bankruptcy in 2023 and beyond >A number of policies to boost the birth rate, with crazy shit like couples with more then 3 kids gets a free apartment or don't have to pay property tax or something. >Allow COVID to rampage though the country, maybe with a new vaccine campaign >Massive push for GMOs to the chinese population, a lot of people don't know this, but chinese people are actually really distrustful of GMOs in general, hence all crops grown in china are non-GMO variants, but they are working to change this and will probably go ham and grow a ton of crazy shit like golden rice, C4 rice, or rice with high level of protein.
I guess the Chinese really are building socialism. I hope they succeed, if they do its going to be more earth shattering than both the american/french/russian revolution combined.

based but cringe about GMO

Most of your ideas seem pretty good I hope you are right
Reverse psychology? All of that seems fucking amazing in the surface.

It's already what China is already doing, they already purposely nuked their tech sector, real sector sector, already slowly introducing a property tax in a few cities, there's already a tax rework, there's a ton of shit being pushed to increase birthrates, the GMO push is already here etc etc.
The question is how much they will push this policies, since all have been deeply unpopular and will cause major shock to the system if not done properly. Of course, if Xi become president for life, he might just say fuck it and speed up certain policies. This of course might not be a good thing in the short term

Most of that sounds like they're putting themselves on the right track and you're massively over exaggerating the down sides for dramatic effect. Singapore SAR someday...

>Xi gets a third term as president only third? how long does a term there last? I thought he has been in power since forever
Nicholas Sanchez
I agree with most of this, but there needs to be a new right wing regime to really make any change. I would also add they should give up on supporting the property sector and let the housing prices crash. A reset is not a bad thing in the long-term.
Ideally imo, they should let a recession happen, fake a coup and blame everything unpopular on Xi and the communists. Then the new government reaps the benefits of an economic reset and continues on.

>there needs to be a new right wing regime to really make any change No
The Russian economy was already in shambles when the Soviet Union collapsed and remains in shambles now. China is fairly fortunate to have a decent economy hampered by lockdowns and housing. I believe it would work.

I think 9mm brain surgery on yourself would work better mr. glow.

>I would also add they should give up on supporting the property sector and let the housing prices crash. A reset is not a bad thing in the long-term.
They already nuked the entire property sector with their new borrowing rules. Like all the drama with evergrande? Won't have never happened if the CCP didn't try to kill off the entire sector. Housing prices are falling very very slowly, like 1% per year. It's a delicate balancing act, since a rapid decline would see everyone rushing for the exit, causing even more rapid decline as everyone sells all at once. This is why a bubble burst so fast. A slow decline makes it so that investors don't use housing as an investment tool can flee safely and not touch the housing sector ever again, while not suddenly fucking over actual homeowners who might need to suddenly dump their house and protecting their life savings.
>Ideally imo, they should let a recession happen,
Yeah, it sucks, but a minor recession from time to time is actually good for the system, it allows for the inefficiencies and dead weight to be rooted out. Well, with zero-covid, they got their recession.

This is assuming that everyone doesn't just lay flat and do as little as possible without getting into trouble. Xi has already laid out a five a ten year plans to be the leader in just about everything. Problem is no one wants to show any initiative that might get them into trouble down the road.

The CCP is trying to cut back on 996 working standards so that people will have more kids

The Chinese people deserve to reap the rewards and all the best, a fair, honest society that works and studies A LOT. I cheer for China and its people.
