I made a map previously of counties which are nice to live in and have lots of nature.
It's sad that places like Belgium, which used to have legendary huge forests now have nothing but agriculture.
France is particularly blessed to have huge amounts of forest left undestroyed, and it's true that there are few ancient forests left in Britain.
There is a lyric in the song Rule Brittannia which goes:
"As the loud blast, the blast that tears the skies
Serves but to root thy native oak"
Meaning that our construction of the ships which conquered the world also destroyed our forests through timbering.
But England gets a bad rap from places like outer london, manchester, et cetera. East Anglia and the west country are very nice places to live.
An example of nice city to live in, might be Birmingham for example.
