How come the Japanese/Koreans/Chinese never had any great architectural feats such as the Pyramids (Egyptian/Aztec), Stone Henge, medieval castles or even places of worship such as the numerous cathedrals all over Europe?

The Great Buddha Hall of Todaiji in Nara is one of the largest wood structures in the world. Its predecessor was actually bigger but it was rebuilt about 300 years ago. Parts of the original remain. I think the entrance gate is over 500 years old. Not too bad for wood.
