I feel sorry for the good and intelligent Indians who are tainted by deprived Indians.
India's economy got completely destroyed by the Anglo during and after the colonial period. Without western domination and interference India would be richer than China (it was richer for most of its history). Rebuilding the country and creating a culture of entrepreneurship takes time especially when your population is 138 crore.
As an Italian I truly admire their culture and traditions and wish them the best.
The funny bit is that in 1948 most of the world was green including SS Africa. India was 6th poorest political entity on the planet in 1948.

Wasn't the British Empire a wonderful thing? It buck broke so many lesser races that it continues to make the world seethe, long after it has gone. I mean, don't get me wrong, the killing other Europeans part, especially in both World Wars was absolute slave golem tier, but having owned 25% of the planet at one point is an amazing feat. India was also a "country" by 1919, since the parliamentary elections started then. It was under the British crown like Australia or Canada was.
