It’s a Reddit libertarians idea of a good sci-fi movie

I actually liked the premise before it turned into a bank robbery movie or something.

They could have expanded so much more on the system and flaws and stuff but it went full retard. What the fuck?

this.
it was a pretty opaque analogy but could have at least been expanded upon.

Didn't Timberlake have something like 9000 years at one point? I know it wouldn't have made for much of a movie but it would have been far more interesting to see the ramifications of someone living that long who had 0 expectations of living beyond 30

It's kind of interesting too that he was a guy who lived day to day and then gets thousands of years. It would be interesting to see how he changes because of that rather than timekeepers trying to control the system.

>you're under arrest because you have too much time

That's the exact moment the movie went to shit. The heists afterwards were just 'rich bad, poor good' trash that I thought the movie was actually subverting. Remember when he gives his friend with a family 10 years and he goes out and dies the next day from partying too much? Even the guy's wife is like "Oh that's my husband, stupid fuck, you enabled him"
Then he goes to the rich city and everyone is calm, relaxed, spending real time being human beings, and he's even told he sticks out cause he eats so fast.

Imagine a movie that actually pointed out a big reason why poor people stay poor is their own behavior, and we fastforward to a 500 year old Timberlake who's lamenting that everyone he tries to lift out of poverty ends up worse.

Could have been done like Interview with the Vampire or something.

it juxtaposes money with time so that you realize how little wagies make and how the 1% is essentially stealing life from the rest

Except wagies won't wage anymore.

i think you missed the message there. poverty is very stressful. and when you are stressed you don't make good decisions.

That's the message they spoonfeed you. But look at the real world. How many poor people are given money and opportunity, and screw it up?
Sports, lotto, heck even overpaid government jobs. People get out of poverty and end up right back in it.
I understand the basic idea, waging kills you and takes your time away while rich people don't have to deal with that. I'm a wagie myself.
But I'm also surrounded by people who buy cars they can't afford, houses they can't upkeep, consume like mad, etc. I get ragged on by coworkers for driving a civic that's 4 years old cause it's not a $60k+ car. My commute to work is 20 minutes a day, why would I blow money on something else?
When you're stupid you don't make good decisions. Rich or poor doesn't fix that.

So it's socialist propoganda?

again you fail to get the message.

how many rich folks from old money fuck up? you don't find them on the streets because they have money to fall back on.

and these people have the resources that poor people don't have. and they still fuck up.

poor people and rich people make bad decisions. but the rich have the money to bounce back.

and the poor make even more bad decisions because they don't have the resources to relax and take time to think about stuff. they live in constant survival mode.

>steal one billion dollars from the world's richest bank
>drive to a Detroit slum and toss it all out into the middle of the street
>This is somehow a good idea and they keep doing it now
That's essentially what the ending was. Who the writes this crap?

>reddit spacing
I'm not missing the message, midwit. I'm pointing out it's flawed and the movie could have done something different by exploring something else.

>So it's socialist propoganda?
Depends on your political point of view I guess.

Someone post the car webm

Holy shit fuck off with your poor people are poor because it's their own fault. Not even rich people think that, but they want poor people to think that, and you fucking ate the line right up. Next you're going to Tell me that Gary V is a good role model who gives good advice.

you don't understand the movie and even a Any Forums post is hard for you to grasp.

i'm going to translate this for moron.

rich people have money, time and help to shape their behaviour.

poor people don't have money, time and help to shape their behaviour.

the movie addresses this just fine. you may not believe that, but what you believe is shit so you're opinion is shit too.

rich people bad

>Movie that starts off as 1984 then becomes Casino Royale but then suddenly Robin Hood and even then Bonnie and Clyde

CAPITALISM BAD
GIBS ME DATS GOOD

>angry samefag

>He doesn't realize he's hurting these people more than he's helping them
This line is deep and yet they never go into how deep. His best friend ended up killing himself for fuck sake.

You need to spend time around poors to understand it's a combination of both.

Fun gimmick with hot actors and stylish production design.
Thats what that movie is.

>being this much of a moron.

Stay poor and mad.

They sorta touch upon that by showing few people who literally had eons to live

go buy some friends, moron. gtfo
